Stellaride is Coming to an End

Once again I am here writing about my favorite tv show Chicago Fire. Yes, I know that this is just a tv show. That being said this is just my opinion about the show. As fans we all have our own opinions about the show and the characters. I respect other fans opinions.

I am a huge fan of Kelly Severide played by Taylor Kinney. That is the whole reason I watch the show in the first place. He has sexy blue eyes and a smile to match. I get so caught up in the story lines with him. That is the reason that I am writing this.

Background on Stella Kidd:

Stella came on the scene at 51 after her firehouse is closed. She is constantly having to prove herself as a firefighter. She has an ex husband that when she first came she admits to still having a relationship with off and on.

After a tactical training course at the academy Severide showed up at Stella’s house with a six-pack. He uses the key under the matt to get into the house. Stella’s then husband Grant wants to call the police to which Stella talks him out of. Stella flirts with Severide during her first season on the show. She confronts Severide about breaking into her house with flowers and champagne while she was married, but now keeping his distance while she is single. Grant shows up to try to patch things up.

Later Grant is at Molly’s were he sees Stella and Severide together. Grant and Stella get into a fight. The night with Grant in the hospital after he is found overdosed. Stella tells Grant she is done and he needs to get help. Dr. Charles says that he knows it looks bleak now, but with the right help and support Grant can get better. Dr. Charles soon realizes that Grant has left. The season ends with Stella and Severide getting into bed while Grant is sitting in an arm chair with a knife in hand in the dark.

In Season 6 is were Stella ends up with fellow firefighter Severide. At the end of the season Severide ends up kissing Kidd (whom he previously had a romantic fling with) in Molly’s when it was closing for the night. After learning about his failed relationships Kidd reconsiders her living arrangement with Kelly by living in Herrmann’s attic.

Go to Season 7. Responding to a fire at an apartment complex Stella was left severely injured. She and Hermann tired to extinguish part of the fire to help Severide and a child out who were both waiting inside a room and running out of time. Sella ran out of oxygen but didn’t tell Hermann and as a result ran out of air and collapsed. Sylvie tried helping her breathe and she was sent to Chicago Med where she deteriorated. Conner told them that to save her they would have to remove part of her lung. Severide disagreed as she would not longer be a firefighter and asked them to find another way, with some help. Conner was persuaded and tried a different surgery, which saved her life without the lung removal. She recovered quickly and was back to work soon.

After his father died, Severide and Stella’s relationship became strained and her distances himself from her. Severide becomes jealous of Stella’s friend causing even more of a strain on their relationship. Stella breaks up with Severide, stating that she had already been the lifeline of a man who was having a breakdown and that she could not go through that again. They get back together where Severide says that she deserves someone better, and he was going to be that someone.

My Opinion:

Let me say for the record that I am not a fan of Severide and Stella. I personally think that they are all wrong for each other. I think that Severide is just settling for the familiar. I feel that he deserves better. I think that Severide is just tired of looking for love in all the wrong places. Stella has hurt him so many times.

I see Stella leaving sooner rather than later. I see that she will get tired of waiting for Severide to give her what she wants. She will end up leaving to find something better. This will give Severide the out that he needs to find something much better for him.

Stella is too bossy, too controlling, too opinionated, too manipulative, has to be right all the time, and has to have her way all the time to name a few. Severide needs someone that completes him and not controls him. He needs someone to let him be himself and not be tense all the time. Stella is just not that kinds girl.

Stella has to have her way all the time. We have saw Severide and Stella get into fights before and Stella get mad because she was not getting her way. She needs to grow up. I see that there is no future for Stella and Severide.

Honestly, it will not be too long before Stella and Severide are over and Stella leaves. It will be for the best.  I think it is time for Stella to move on and for Severide to be really happy.
