Severide woke up early and looked at the time. He slipped out of bed and slipped some clothes on. He was not liking having to leave Kidd, but he was hopping that this task went fast so that he could get back to her. He was headed to check on Annie when she ran past him. Bennie got upstairs with Cosmo and they got into bed. Soon Severide and Kidd were in bed holding each other. They were all in need of rest. Severide set the alarm before they drifted off to sleep. Then they went to sleep. Soon they were getting up from their nap and heading downstairs to work on dinner. Severide got some chicken breast out and cut it into tenders. Then he set up a bag with a seasoned breading. Then he put eggs in a bowl, added a little salt, and whisk them with a fork. Then he started breading the chicken. He did a double breading.
Soon Annie was home from school. She came in and got right to doing her homework. Bennie came downstairs with Cosmo Cat. Bennie got a puzzle and sat up at the table to work on it. Severide had gotten the chicken tenders on a sheet pan, he got the fries on a sheet pan, and both pans in the oven. He then worked on salad and the fruit.

Soon Severide was putting the food on the table and Kidd was putting the drinks on the table. Then they all sat down for dinner. They ate dinner and talked. Annie told about her day. Severide took the kids for baths and off to bed.
